It took me a while to grow into Kill Tony. At first, I felt quite disgusted from the jokes and the humiliation. But with time I realized exactly what you said: they treat people like adults.
They’re not bullying the stranger in the street. People literally sign up to be there!! And the anticipation to discover if someone is funny or not is the best 😂😂
It's definitely an interesting and unique format, which is why I think it (finally) works. People will always push back and resist the things that disupt the status quo. I think Tony does an amazing job of honoring the craft while offering some top-tier humans access audiences—and a lot of times, enabling them to build their own! Comedy, in particular, is one hell of a "sport" and I think just being a comedian puts you into this category of truth seekers and truth tellers. So, by default, jokes will occasionally be made at your expense. I appreciate that Tony is often the butt of jokes, too. It really is a level playing field and a space where you have to earn your right to be there. And it's always entertaining to watch! :)
Tony's the man. There's a reason it's grown into the number one live comedy show in the world. Turns out people love meritocracy because that gets the best quality talent
thank you for this, articulated some stuff i've thought for a while. no one has done more for disabled comics than tony hinchcliffe, yet some will never give him credit because they have an image of him which he doesn't care about. i find it very inspiring. and the numbers don't lie.
Oh thank you for posting this! This is definitely a favourite read!
It's time to lay down the virtue signaling costumes!
It's time to admit that we all have a sinister demon head inside of us that just loves to laugh about stupid things. Doing the opposite — chaining and gagging that little demon head — will only lead to its mushrooming and mutating into something much harder to handle. Ask Carl Jung if you don't understand why and how . . .

yes, i totally agree. For me the best episode was a recent one which he had another guy playing him as a character! Sooo good
OMG Adam Ray! YES lolol I loved that episode. Was dying every time Adam opened his mouth and threw his head back the way Tony does. So good.
😂😂😂

Absolutely! It's so much more fun to appreciate diversity, too, when it's rooted in merit. Everyone wins. No one actually wants to feel tokenized.

glad it resonated, Stefan. i continue to be blown away by Tony’s audacity and authenticity–he really is one of the most inspiring humans imo
