I wrote about this same concept last week. The trigger for me wasn't from looking back but looking forward. I used it as a way to pick myself back up from a traumatic experience, reminding myself of the power of time and to trust in the process.
You've expressed this process so eloquently, thank you for sharing.
> I want to become more conscious of my own evolution, to catch myself in the act of transformation rather than only recognizing it in retrospect.
One of the few upsides of your life falling to pieces is that you do get to catch the transformation in realtime. You can't do anything but trust in the process and watch as the new you emerges. It's oddly beautiful to experience that strength and sadness at the same time.
That's a great point and part of the perspective I was missing here. When we're rebuilding after something tragic, we definitely get to experience more of the change in real time.
Beautiful reflection on growth. It is simultaneously too easy to forget who we once were and also so difficult to actively feel like we are changing. But it is important to acknowledge both and thank you for sharing and reminding us all!

I adore this! Thank you for sharing. I'm learning to forgive my younger self for not knowing any better by learning more about myself every day
Beautiful, thank you
